She's here!

and yes, I'm excited. As someone who's not only been irregular her whole life, but battled infertility for so long, seeing Aunt Flo here is an excellent sign that things are right on track. I'm so happy :)

The Past Week

has been a tiring week if nothing else. I think it's because I finally ovulated and am now just waiting for AF. I've been hungry like never before, and I wouldn't be surprised if I gained weight. :( I admit, I've had no self control whatsoever. Any who, that plus coming back from vacation to a busy work week was enough to send me straight to bed after work. I'm truly hoping AF shows up between today and tues. It would really be a great sign that my fertility has improved. Hubby and I really want to try as soon as we're able. It would be perfect if we got pregnant this coming up cycle. Perfect, yes...but we know it possible won't happen. Still our hopes are there and the fact that I ovulated is certainly a great sign. Nothing else happened... took a few pix throughout the week, had way too many vivid dreams, and felt sick to my stomach today on my hike. Also been moooooody...according to hubs...lol

So here's to a good productive work week which will hopefully reintroduce my dear aunt flo and start a new cycle in our lives... :)

Have a great one y'all!

waiting...

Waiting sucks! Here I am. Over a month after losing my bub waiting for my wonderful Aunt Flo to arrive. But so far no sign of her. In fact, I think I'm still waiting to ovulate. As it turns out... TMI warning...... I've noticed a lot of CM since yesterday. In fact, much, much, much more than I ever have. I guess that's a good thing if I were trying to get pregnant this month. And as much as I'm itching to disobey my doctor, I won't. He said I could try after my first post-miscarriage cycle. But again, WAITING SUCKS! Any who, here's my chart... and although rocky, I can see my temps are getting lower and lower.FX that this cycle ends soon!

Natural Supplements for PCOS

I wish I didn't have PCOS. But I do. Normally doctors prescribe meds such as metformin, clomid, and birth control pills to "reclaim" fertility, but I've always felt it was more of a forced situation plus you're stuffing yourself with chemicals and somehow I don't believe that is going to help in the long run. I prefer a more natural way to regain my well-being. I began working out, eating healthier, and about a month ago I began supplementing my health with fish oil and a prenatal multi-vitamin.

The fish oil has completely cleared my skin and the multi-vitamin has provided me with much needed vitamins that I was otherwise not getting enough of. Something I did notice after starting fish oil was that my hair is now getting quite wavy. It's a nice side effect I guess. LOL. But other than that it's been a positive experience.

This month I'm adding Vitex to the mix. Vitex is pretty much supposed to help regulate your menstrual cycle. If you're anything like me and have PCOS you know how hard it is to achieve that. Personally, I have a period about once every six months which obviously is no bueno. Any who, I'm hopeful this little herb can help me.

I purchased my first bottle at GNC for 6 bucks. Pretty cheap for something so important I'd say.

The bottle says to take 1 capsule two or three times daily for eight to twelve weeks. Thereafter, take 1 capsule daily. I decided to go with the lower dosage and start off with two a day for this week. I will tell you that within minutes I began to get cramping. I couldn't believe how quickly it started having an effect. I took the second one with my dinner and again I got the cramps. The way this is going I think I'll be seeing positive results very soon. As for the cramps, they're not so bad.... I take it as a sign that something is working down there... Well, with that said I'm ending this post. I'll post an update if all goes according to plan.

Weekly Weigh-In

Busy week at work again. So busy, that I knew I'd end up staying late prepping, so I took my car. I really wasn't expecting to lose weight, but I did which is a shocker. I guess my body really wants to get rid of the excess :)

Starting Weight: 181
Ending Weight: 179.2
Loss/Gain: -1.8

I didn't meet my weekly 2lb goal by 2 oz!!!!, but I did make it to the 170's which is a record! I'm loving it! I also reached the 50lb loss which that in itself is an accomplishment. PLUS, according to my BMI tracker I am no longer "SEVERLY OBESE." Ughh... those words were just so harsh...lol, I'm now just "obese." Boo! But, that just motivates me to keep going and pushing hard. I CAN DO THIS!

By the way, I'm not preggo. Bummer... but I will get to see my doc on Thursday where I hope she can give me some hope... it's been a while since I've been to the dr... so I'm nervous as to what she'll say to me....

Any who, my goal for the coming week will be 177.2lbs. Should be easy since it's a short work week and I'll get to do a lot of walking in Disneyland next Friday :) Should be fun!

Weekly Weigh-In

This week was definitely a good one. For one, aunt flo came! Secondly, I started my Zumba class.... which I absolutely LOVE, and thirdly, I went back to work. No gym time, but a lot of walking. I'm still doing the 2-3 miles a day, but this time I am increasing my pace.... the faster I move the more calories are burnt AND that usually revs up my metabolism. :) Any who, the results are in:

Previous Weight: 192 lbs
Current Weight: 189.4 lbs
Loss/Gain: -2.6 lbs

I am very happy. My hard work and healthier food choices have certainly benefited me. I can't wait for fall so I can get my heart pumping even more by doing more hikes. Yeah Boy!!! Hahaha. . . I can be such a dork sometimes :)

My new goal for the week: 187.4 lbs.

I am so excited and proud of myself. I love seeing the scale go down. I know at some point I'll plateu again, but that's cool. It happens. I'm just happy to see improvements in the meantime. Oh, I'll probably update this post later with my new measurements... it's that time again :).

So here are the results:

I began taking my measurements about two weeks ago to see how my body was changing. In just two weeks It appears that I lost 1.5" from my arms, my boobs got 1" bigger (Thank you Aunt Flo), I also lost .5" from my thighs, .75" from my calfs, and 1.25" from my abdomen. For a little less than two weeks that's pretty good :). I'll be measuring myself once a month from now on. By the way, the app I used for the measurements is BodyShot.

Guess Who Finally Came to Town?

LOL. I'm probably the only girl who gets super excited when this happens. Why you ask? Well, because it hardly ever comes and when it does I feel normal. I feel like the woman that I am. Even though I've got cramps, feel bloated, my boobs hurt, and I'm such an emotional roller coaster, I can't help but get excited to think that my body will finally get with it. I mean I'm 31 and I would LOVE to have a beautiful healthy baby soon..... how awesome would that be? But I gotta take it slow... one day at a time... and when God decides it'll happen. :) It will happen.
