Natural Supplements for PCOS

I wish I didn't have PCOS. But I do. Normally doctors prescribe meds such as metformin, clomid, and birth control pills to "reclaim" fertility, but I've always felt it was more of a forced situation plus you're stuffing yourself with chemicals and somehow I don't believe that is going to help in the long run. I prefer a more natural way to regain my well-being. I began working out, eating healthier, and about a month ago I began supplementing my health with fish oil and a prenatal multi-vitamin.

The fish oil has completely cleared my skin and the multi-vitamin has provided me with much needed vitamins that I was otherwise not getting enough of. Something I did notice after starting fish oil was that my hair is now getting quite wavy. It's a nice side effect I guess. LOL. But other than that it's been a positive experience.

This month I'm adding Vitex to the mix. Vitex is pretty much supposed to help regulate your menstrual cycle. If you're anything like me and have PCOS you know how hard it is to achieve that. Personally, I have a period about once every six months which obviously is no bueno. Any who, I'm hopeful this little herb can help me.

I purchased my first bottle at GNC for 6 bucks. Pretty cheap for something so important I'd say.

The bottle says to take 1 capsule two or three times daily for eight to twelve weeks. Thereafter, take 1 capsule daily. I decided to go with the lower dosage and start off with two a day for this week. I will tell you that within minutes I began to get cramping. I couldn't believe how quickly it started having an effect. I took the second one with my dinner and again I got the cramps. The way this is going I think I'll be seeing positive results very soon. As for the cramps, they're not so bad.... I take it as a sign that something is working down there... Well, with that said I'm ending this post. I'll post an update if all goes according to plan.
