Descanso Gardens

It's spring break! And one of my favorite things to do while on break is visit gardens/arboratums. I kept seeing posts from friends on facebook about Descanso Gardens, so I told hubby we should go and visit. Since I knew my sis and nieces where going to be home too we decided to invite them along.

It was a beautiful day! The first thing we saw once getting there was the beautiful tulip garden. Yes, spring was in the air.

We took a bunch of pictures of the girls in the garden. This one is my absolute favorite!

Toward the end of our little field trip we sat under a white chinese cherry blossom tree, ate snacks, and watched little Pearl entertain herself. She is such a character. We clapped for her when she crawled by herself and she would join in and smile with such pride.

It got me thinking of doing things like these with my little boy once he's here. It's funny how the little things can bring such joy to us.

Any who, again, if you live in So. Cal definitely check out the Descanso Gardens!

The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens

You know that saying "I need a vacation from my vacation"? Welp, that was me yesterday. So today, I woke up bright and early and asked my hubby to spend Easter at the Hungtington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens with me. He didn't hesitate once. In fact, he thought that would be an awesome idea.

So we headed over and I just have to say how much I fell in love with the charm and absolute beauty of this place. It's not like the Arboratum... it has it's own charm. I love both places so much I could jump between both all day. However, the Huntington is a bit more steep in price. I guess that's because it's a private park as opposed to the Arboratum which is part of the LA County Parks and Rec.

The Huntington is separated into various garden settings which are the backdrop to a gorgeous art museum and a sweet looking library. We spent all day there taking hundreds of pictures. It was THAT beautiful.

The fact that it's spring time and the weather was so perfect totally helped set the tone for an awesome day. I'm definitely thinking of going back but later in the spring or early summer. God permitting of course :)

Pacific Coast Highway 1 Central Coast Roadtrip

The following are a few of the pictures from today's daytrip back to Los Angeles. There is so much to do! Too bad we didn't have enough time. Seriously, this trip can be spread throughout a good week. So we promised ourselves that we'd be back. It is absolutely a must do for any self respecting Cali resident :)

A look of the ocean as we pass through Big Sur... It was around 9:30am
This little fella must have felt like a celebrity. He let everyone take his picture Too Cute!
Driving through Carmel... such a cute little city.
Manuel and I
Leo, Precious, and I... such a pretty view
Manuel and the pups

You can't really tell, but there's a surfer in this pic.
Too bad we were rushing to get home. I would've loved to chill down there :)
Point Lobos State Reserve...
Entrance to the Point Lobos State Reserve. It looked so pretty. Too bad they didn't let dogs in :(
Us and Leo @ Point Lobos State Reserve. We snuck in for a peak.
Precious... she's so tomboyish
Made a quick stop here at Fernwood Grill. Nice little shop, grill, grocery store, and motel on the side of the road
While at Fernwood Grill we got us some BBQ wings and some chicken tenders. The BBQ wings were yummmmmey!
This chair was huge!

Enjoy!
