A Movie Out in the Open

So hubby and I can't really go anywhere at this point in my pregnancy. I mean, I'll be 40 weeks tomorrow! LOL so we decided to take it one day at a time and look for nice little things to do around the city. One of the things we found was Eat.See.Hear. Basically they bring movies out to open aired spaces along with food trucks, a DJ, and a band. Tickets are only $10 (pre-sale), so not a big dent in the pocket.

We decided to go check out "Fight Club" which was being held at the Los Angeles Historic Park. Since it was our very first time, we showed up early to get a good spot. We packed the car with blankets and took some fruit and home made salads to eat while there.

His and Hers Salads some fruit and water :)

It truly was such a good time. I guess nothing beats being out in the open and hanging out with someone you truly care about. Although there would be food trucks there, I wasn't really expecting to get anything, but after smelling some real good hotdogs, I said whatevers and went for it. To my surprise though... the wait was much too long. I guess I wasn't the only one craving hot dogs! LOL. So sadly I didn't get to eat one because the movie started and I didn't want to miss it.

I forgot to mention we ended up getting some Cuban sandwiches, but although good were overpriced.

Truth is, I had never seen "Fight Club." I don't know why!?! LOL... but I ended up really liking it and was shocked to find out that he imagined Brad Pitt's character all along! Cray Cray! LOL.

Here's baby Alejandro aka The Bump waiting for the movie to start :)

The night was chilly, but overall perfect. Just gotta invest in buying some low beach chairs to be more comfy, but other than that it's all good.

Any who, if you're interested in checking out one of their summer screenings check out eatseehear.com

Date Time

Had such a good time today. We got to go to the movies and check out the new Fast and the Furious movie.

I totally loved it!  It was action packed from the get go and it had enough mushy parts to fill my pregnancy hormone filled heart. LOL

So of you get a chance, check it out!

Titanic 3D

was amazing! I had forgotten how much I enjoyed romantic tragedies. It was simply amazing. Between me and you I could care less about the 3D experience, but the overall story is what gets me every time. In the end I cried like a baby. I don't mean shed a tear or two... I mean I sobbed and had trouble catching my breath. I really shouldn't be allowed to see this ever again. lol

The Vow

I love Rachel McAdams, so there was no question that I'd enjoy this movie. The hubby and I went over to see it and it did not disappoint. Both hubby and I loved it. The movie reminded me so much of my hubby and I without the me losing my memory part. Just the relationship itself. Now, many people were disappointed with the ending, but I found it fitting. I gotta say one part stood out to me. The part where she's confronting her mom. I loved how mom responded that she chose to stay for all the right things he'd done and forgive him for the one thing he did wrong. OMG I got a knot in my throat. I think that's how I feel about relationships. You have to weigh your options and your life. I'm not saying stay with a man who's gonna hurt you and lie. Not at all, but after so many years together and forming a family you at least have to try and forgive. Now if he continues with the crap then he can go to hell, but you tried. Now, I hope I am never in that situation, but shit happens and I'll be dammed if I'm not prepared to whoop ass! LOL.

I read the story that inspired the movie and although romantic, I do prefer the movie version. I'm such a hopeless romantic. LOL.

Bridesmaids

I'll start off by saying that this movie was nothing like I expected it to be. Nothing at all. I loved "The Hangover" and "The Hangover II" but this movie was not at all at that level.

It's funny, but kind of awkward. I'm really glad I didn't see this at the movies. I know a lot of people loved it and thought it was hilarious, but it didn't cut it for me. Sorry!

I loved the scene at the boutique where they're trying out the dresses and the one on the plane once she's drunk. I think they were hilarious. But then it was really flat.

Any who, I liked it, but I did not love it. Am I alone?

Contraband

Hubby and I got some movie tickets this past Christmas. We decided to use them once we heard of a good movie that got our attention. Well, we heard of "Contraband" with Mark Whalbergh aka Marky Mark and we had to check it out. We are big action movie buffs.

Any who, the movie did not let down. I loved the storyline. I loved every action scene. I also loved seeing a latino actor in it (Diego Luna). Diego's role was of a crazy drug lord. I of course loved Mark Whalbergh in it. The man doesn't age and continues to be sexy as ever... lol.

The movie really didn't disappoint. Loved it! So if you're into action movies or into Marky Mark you have to check it out... you'll have a good 'ol time :)

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Saw the movie last night with my hubby and ohmyGoodness I loved it! It had both drama and action, which are two of my favorite genres. I thought the storyline and acting was on key. Definitely check it out!!!!

Fun Filled Weekend

What a wonderful weekend I had. Nothing too crazy happened... as it was "carmaggedon" weekend here in Los Angeles. That phrase just makes me laugh. It really turned out to be good for everyone because there was really no traffic here in LA, and as I thought everyone either went out of the city or stayed in.
The hubby and I went out Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It was nice. Most of these dates were to the movies though. We LOVE movies! Ha!
So on Thursday we saw "A Better Life." I had previously purchased the movie through groupon and I knew it would expire end of month. What a tear jerker! Specially the end. I recommend this to anyone, but if you're immigrant or have come from an immigrant family it'll hit home.
On Friday we were supposed to spend the entire day at the OC Fair, but it since it was opening day it was traffic galore. I truly think I was in a carmaggedon! Ha! It took us nearly two hours to drive 10 miles. Not funny. I wanted to run my car through everyone who cut in front of me at some point and go home after finding out all parking lots were at capacity, but the hubby had the excellent idea of just finding a nearby theater and watching "Harry Potter" and checking back later. Which ended up being exactly what we did.
My Harry Potter Sticker from getglue.com hehehe
I loved the movie. Personally, I haven't ready any of the books so I have no idea if it stayed true to story, but it was pretty good. I did however find the last 5 minutes comical. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but watch and you'll see.

Taken @ the OC Fair.. I absolutely love this place :)

On Saturday we hung out at home most of the morning and decided to redeem our AMC movie tickets which we've had forever. We saw "Horrible Bosses." Oh my God! That movie was hillarious! I loved Jennifer Aniston in the movie... it was so not like her! I loved it so much I'd watch it again.
On Sunday my hubby told me he wanted to visit the museum with the statues of celebrities. So I bought tickets to go to Madam Tussauds in Hollywood. We went there early in the evening. It was crazy packed on Hollywood Blvd. I never realized how many tourists are out there! Later on we realize he meant the "Hollywood Wax Museum"... lol... but I think Madam Tussauds is probably a better museum any ways :) We really liked it... there were so many "celebrities." I just wish we had gone on a slower day. Seemed like everyone brought their rowdy kids, so there were little photo ops :( Still a good time though.
Michael Jackson and I, we're tight like that
Some more pix from the museum
So there you have it.... a busy, but lovely weekend :) Gotta love them :)

Overdue!

Well hello there! I almost forgot that I had you here, but luckily . . .I 'membered =)

Any who, it's been a while. I'm on summer break now and that is awesome because that means I don't have to work. It also sucks because I don't get paid =(. Been off for five days now and have managed to do a few things here and there. However, I haven't been able to tackle my biggest project. . . to turn my home office into my little oasis. . . that'll probably have to wait because frankly we have a full house and have had zero time to really relax.

So have y'all seen ECLIPSE yet? Goodness, I've seen it three times already! I looooove it! I saw it at midnight with some co-workers and then forced the hubby to go with me. . .the third time I got my two friends to go with me. . .I think I memorized the lines now. LOL.

Of course that's not the only movie we've seen. . .the hubby and I live at the movies.

We also saw Toy Story 3 and Karate Kid! Those are both cute and I definitely recommend them.

Goint to the Movies. . .

is one of my hubby and I favorite things to do. It's just relaxing to sit there infront of a huge screen and chill. Today we saw "Date Night" with Steve Carell and Tina Fey. OMG people it's hillarious. I personally love them both and believe they make an excellent on screen couple! I loved it!

Of course after going to the movies we had to run a gazillion errands (most of which pertained to my brother) but overall it was a good day. I needed that after this week. Specially since yesterday I worked 12 hours of overtime. LOL.

Any who, here's to a great week!
