Newborn Must-Have's

Alejandro has been with us a whole month! Yay!

As a new mommy, it can be overwhelming figuring out how to care for our new little bundle of joy and on top of that figuring out what items we need to provide the best care. So, I've decided to create a post with my must have items. 

Here they are in no particular order:

1. 

   Summer sleep sack... baby is free to move, but is also kept warm to wear at night or on cool days.

   
   
   
   
   
   

   

   Britax B-Safe Infant Carrier.... I really thought I wouldn't need an infant carrier, as I had received one of those other car seats that are good from day one, but trust me this has been a life saver... baby hates being strapped down, but it's for his own safety :)

   
   

   

   Dr. Brown's bottle...these are anti-colic, so that is the main reason why I chose them. My son got lots of gas with another type of bottle, so we switched. So far so good. A little hard to clean the vent, but anything to make things better for the baby.

   
   

   

   Ergo carrier... I love this thing! A friend gave me the infantino and within minutes my back was hurting. With this baby right here I was able to carry baby all day and no back pain. Just an FYI... this is for babies 12lbs and heavier. For lighter babies I recommend adding the ergo infant insert.
   

   

   Ergo Infant Insert... I didn't want to buy this. BUT I ended up having to buy it because it was much more comfier for baby once he was in the carrier. I had seen some youtube videos on how to use the carrier without this insert, but my baby hated that. He didn't feel supported I guess. five minutes in this baby and he was out. It also did provide a lot of added head and neck support.
   

   

   Enfamil Premium Infant Ready to Use Cans... What a time saver! I hated using the powdered formula. It just got too messy. So when I discovered the premade cans I jumped at the chance. What I do is once I open the can I poured the formula onto a sealed tumblr and kept it in the fridge. Please note that once a can is opened it must be used within 48hours. 

   
   
   
   
   
   

   

   Kirkland Diapers Size 1-2... pretty good diapers for a super cheap price :) 

   
   

   

   Huggies Natural Care Wipes...I love these wipes. They're not overly scented or smell like bleach like the kirkland ones. I also think they're thick enough. Love 'em!
   
   

   
   

   Of course, there are a million other baby must have items, but these are truly my faves. How about you? Anything I'm missing?

The Arboretum

I had the most amazing day with my hubby at the Arboretum today. It is such a beautiful and peaceful place. I think it took us a good 3 hours to go around the place. There was just so much to see and discover. The place was blooming with color and the sounds of nature. There were even peacocks walking around showing off their beautiful tails. I really wish I had discovered this place earlier. It is a dream! A perfect place for wedding pictures indeed! If I lived closer I'd come here for my daily walk. I took so many pictures, but these are my favorites. 

Well, all in all it was awesome! Glad I bought the family membership through Groupon. I think it was $38 or $39 for the year; including many other arboretums and botanical gardens in CA and the US. And after going today I feel it is a total bargain. Yay for great deals!

30 Day Challenge-Day 2

DAY 2-How Have You Changed in the Last Two Years?

• I've changed a whole lot from two years ago. I truly feel like I'm a completely different person.I no longer say yes to everyone's requests. For example, for a long time I stopped whatever I was doing or change my plans to accommodate my family or friends. I did it because I loved them or cared for them, but it became extremely exhausting.

• I took charge of my health. I was letting PCOS beat me. I was letting PCOS define who I would be. Now I'm much healthier and happier. I began working out and eating much healthier. Before it would be nearly impossible for me to lose a single pound, but now I can honestly say I've been able to figure out the trick to living with PCOS and lose weight. It's hard, but I've been quite successful. God has granted me the strength and willpower to succeed.

• I look different. I've lost 37 pounds and counting. Because of PCOS I lived for many years with dark blotches all over my skin. It was embarrassing! Now I only have a small patch on my chest that's slowly fading away. I am so happy to finally look normal. It really is the little things that make me happy :)

• I'm happier. Not that I wasn't before, because God had always blessed me with a loving family, but I'm HAPPIER. I'm certainly more confident and self-assured than ever before. As I type this I can't help, but feel good about my accomplishments. 

I'm glad I made these changes. (Excuse me while I pat myself on the back!...LOL)

30 Day Challenge-Day 1

Yesterday as I was bored to death going through my Twitter timeline I came up on a link for a 30 day Challenge. It looked like a good one, so I'm gonna take it on. should be fun :)


DAY 1-Weird things you do when you're alone
When I'm alone I'm at my most comfortable. I'll dance and sing while cleaning. Sometimes if I'm really into it I'll even interview myself. You know as if I was a famous celebrity... lol. I've done that since I was little. I really do get a kick out of it. And sometimes, on hot humid days I'll walk around naked just to prove to myself that I can do it. Weird. I know. LOL.

Summer

A Day at the Beach

Today we loaded up the car with beach towels, sandwiches, fruits, and the pups and we hopped on the 10 fwy. We got off on PCH and drove and drove and drove. We drove past the Ventura county line up to a little cove. It really was a gorgeous spot. We hung out there.

There were only a couple of people at this specific spot. But we did run into a few guys with their pit bull.

Normally I'm cool with pits, but I know my dog is a little dramatic and would probably cause drama so we kept him on leash for a good two hours. Finally they left and I was able to unleash my pup who ran like the wind and jumped in the ocean. It was awesome :) Wish we could've stayed here for ever, but Manuel had to go to work :( Still, it was a pretty awesome day!

El Amor Que Perdimos-Prince Royce

I downloaded Prince Royce CD. Now let me tell you, for 6.99 I consider this an excellent purchase. I love many if not all of the songs. They're sweet and heartfelt. . .they're beautiful.

You see, there are some songs that I love because they're fun and have an awesome beat. . .and simply serve my need to get hyped up and then there are those songs that I can relate to, and cry to, and simply tie a knot in my throat. This is one of the songs that does the latter. The lyrics are soooooo beautiful that I think even if you can't relate you can feel his pain. I looooove it! By the way, it's in Spanish, so sorry if you don't understand the language, but try and you might love it too =)
