Long overdue update

I wish I had all the time in the world to blog. . .

better yet, I wish I had energy to blog.

Yup. I do. So much has happened that I don't even know where to begin.

1. I'm alive.
2. But really this should be #1. . .my mom got really sick. She had kidney failure and is now on dialysis.
   
3. I'm alive.

It's been pretty hard on me, so I can only imagine what my mom must be going through. Having to give up her flexibility and be strapped to a chair for four hours every other day must be a pain. She's doing well though. She's following the doctors orders and is really trying to eat healthier. She wants to be alive. She doesn't want this to beat her. I love her for that. Because seeing my mother fight so hard for herself makes me fight for her. If she can do it, I certainly can.

I'm not gonna lie though, it gets difficult trying to manage having a full time job with 40+ hours, babysit 2 nieces 5x's a week, maintain a healthy marriage, and become my mother's health care assistant. But I do it all because I love them all. My faith in God is keeping me strong and able. I thank God for that. I really do. I also thank him for giving my mom the strength to evolve and grow from this. . .and the strength to fight on.

Bangs

I've always liked the look of bangs. Always. But I've also always been scared to try it. Scared as hell! LOL. But then, a couple days ago I decided to cut them. AND I LOVE THEM! LOL. . .I feel a tad bit weird though, but in all, I'm happy with the look :)

There are few things I want in life that God hasn't granted me...

but my biggest wish and hope is to be a mother. Now, I'm not fooling myself. . .I'm 30, and the chances of that dream coming true are slowly disappearing. However, God granted me the opportunity to be involved in these girls lives. They are my nieces C & A. . .and let me tell you. . .there is nothing I wouldn't do for them! They are my pride and joy. They make me smile and they make me cry because they are the closest thing I have to a child of my own, but also because they are awesome! They're such little people with BIG personalities. They know what they want and they are not afraid to ask for it because they know they deserve it. They know that they're perfect just the way they are. My hubby tells me that God knows why he does what he does and that he's never wrong. I trust him. I trust that he wants me to spoil these girls and teach them things that I would teach my own children. I want them to know that no matter what I love them and will always be there for them. Even if down the road God does grant me that one little wish C & A will always be my babies. Always.

El Amor Que Perdimos-Prince Royce

I downloaded Prince Royce CD. Now let me tell you, for 6.99 I consider this an excellent purchase. I love many if not all of the songs. They're sweet and heartfelt. . .they're beautiful.

You see, there are some songs that I love because they're fun and have an awesome beat. . .and simply serve my need to get hyped up and then there are those songs that I can relate to, and cry to, and simply tie a knot in my throat. This is one of the songs that does the latter. The lyrics are soooooo beautiful that I think even if you can't relate you can feel his pain. I looooove it! By the way, it's in Spanish, so sorry if you don't understand the language, but try and you might love it too =)

Don't answer the fucken door!

Excuse my french. Seriously, I just need to vent.

So at 11:00pm my doorbell rings and I asked the sister's boyfriend if they're expecting anyone. He say's "no" and what do I do? I fucken answer the door! WFT was I thinking? I scared the shit out of myself! The guy looked so shady. He wanted to sell me a tv. I told him I wasn't interested and he kept pushing. WTF? Srsly, sell a tv at 11p? Srlsly? Any who, it was more of a scare than anything, but I really need to be more careful. If not for me for the girlies. Ughh. I'm such a dork!

So finally I convinced the guy to leave and he did. ..and I texted lapd. They responded and watched the area for any activity. Luckily this is a lesson that has been learned! Don't answer the door when it's 11p and you're not expecting anyone! DUH!

I hate thinking about "what if"....

Nothing great happened. Nothing bad happened either. However, I did get to indulge in a hot fudge sundae at Tony P's and it was awesome! LOL.... have a great one

Manuel and I had a great day yesterday. I went to pick him up from work then we passed by McD's for some breakfast and rolled on into bed. We woke up around noonish and got ready to head on out. We decided to go to Universal Studios (again) to see King Kong 3D, but first we stopped at Saddle Ranch for some lunch. Omagoodness that CA Wrap was delicious! Yummy! We got on The Simpson's ride, saw Waterworld, took the Studio Tour which led us to King Kong 3D! Let me tell ya it was AWESOME! I loved it! We continued hanging out at the park until they closed then we headed on to the movie theater on City Walk. We saw Grown Ups. It was a funny flick. I'll probably rent it out once it's on DVD. Ahh, it was nice =) Any who, don't know what today will bring, but I hope it's at least half as nice as yesterday =)

Summer, summer, summer time!

I mentioned earlier that I'm off on vacation from work. I have soooo much I want to do, so I decided to create a list. There's really nothing too big because I won't have the $, but I'm just glad I'll get to get out and discover my beautiful city of Los Angeles =).

I'm sure there are more things out there to do, but for now this is it. . .I guess I'll add if I happen to do something that isn't planned =)

Almost Seven

Gahhhh. . .she's growing up so fast. Although her bday is not officially until next Sunday, we took her to Knott's this past weekend. It was nice and warm out. I had never been there and found it to be pretty good for the price (34.99 compared to 60+ at Disney!) Of course it's NOT Disney! LOL. . .however, it was nice and the girls enjoyed themselves (which is what matters most). Here's a couple more pix...

Overdue!

Well hello there! I almost forgot that I had you here, but luckily . . .I 'membered =)

Any who, it's been a while. I'm on summer break now and that is awesome because that means I don't have to work. It also sucks because I don't get paid =(. Been off for five days now and have managed to do a few things here and there. However, I haven't been able to tackle my biggest project. . . to turn my home office into my little oasis. . . that'll probably have to wait because frankly we have a full house and have had zero time to really relax.

So have y'all seen ECLIPSE yet? Goodness, I've seen it three times already! I looooove it! I saw it at midnight with some co-workers and then forced the hubby to go with me. . .the third time I got my two friends to go with me. . .I think I memorized the lines now. LOL.

Of course that's not the only movie we've seen. . .the hubby and I live at the movies.

We also saw Toy Story 3 and Karate Kid! Those are both cute and I definitely recommend them.

Goint to the Movies. . .

is one of my hubby and I favorite things to do. It's just relaxing to sit there infront of a huge screen and chill. Today we saw "Date Night" with Steve Carell and Tina Fey. OMG people it's hillarious. I personally love them both and believe they make an excellent on screen couple! I loved it!



Of course after going to the movies we had to run a gazillion errands (most of which pertained to my brother) but overall it was a good day. I needed that after this week. Specially since yesterday I worked 12 hours of overtime. LOL.

Tomorrow I go back to work. Ughhh. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my job, but let's face it. . .I enjoy being off much more. Hehehe. Any who, I hope that I am able to keep up with this blog because sometimes it gets super hard and life just gets in the way. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's always good to have a place to vent and chill. I want this to be that place. We'll see. Any who, I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and Spring Break. I know I did. I got to spend it with my lovely family. . .and while I'm on the subject of Easter it got me thinking that I need to go to church. Not that I want to live inside one every day, but there's just so much to learn. I haven't been to one since I was a tween. . .and back then I didn't want to go because my family was just forcing me to go. Seriously peeps, if you have kids don't force them. . specially if YOU are not going! Well, that's a completely another story. But yeah, I'd like to go. Maybe I should bring it up to my hubby. He's great, so I'm sure he'll support me. I kind of feel like I'm just rambling. AND I am! Ha! So hey, did you guys feel the quake earlier today. They say 7.2 by the border! Scary stuff!! I'm pretty used to quakes, but this one creeped me out because it kept going. It wasn't harsh at all down here in Los Angeles, but it lasted at least a minute. Felt like I was on a boat. In fact, I have to admit I actually had a panic attack! I just wanted to get fresh air. It was WEIRD! LOL.

Well, enough rambling. . .time to get to bed. . .another day awaits!

SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!

Went to Target or Targé as I like to call it not expecting to buy anything other than Tide, Q-Tips, and some TP, but I got lucky!!! I saw they had one of my fave shows on sale. ."How I Met Your Mother" all seasons on sale. I already have 1 & 2 so I got 3 & 4. . . I also got "Glee" season 1 because it is always being recommended to me. I'll check it out. In all I spent $25 bucks! That's less than one show! Woo hoo!!! I love great deals!!!

Life is Beautiful. . . .really. . .it is.

Lately I've been anxious to LIVE life. I'm not talking about living life. I'm talking about LIVING life! Really, I admit up to maybe a month or so ago I've been simply imagining how wonderful life could be, but I have decided to stop day dreaming and actually get up and smell the roses. . .literally. Not that I haven't enjoyed my life. . .but I think I've just been stuck in my comfort zone and haven't really done anything amazing. . .There is just so much out there and it's easy to become overwhelmed with it all. But I'm slowly opening up and indulging in everything I come in contact with. It's funny how before I wouldn't even treat myself to a little dessert and now the meals are not complete if I don't taste something sweet. Of course I end up working my ass off after-wards to cancel out the necessary calories =). Ha, but that's just a small example of what I mean. Life is just so lovely, and I'm glad I'm finally savoring it.

There's nothing like hanging at Universal Studios. . .specially for FREE =)

We were bored and I remembered a co-worker telling me that Universal Studios, Hollywood was letting school employees in for Free. . .so I told the hubs and we went on down. It was packed! Turns out we got lucky because it was the last day of the promotion. I went there for one ride and one ride only. . .the Simpson's ride. It's such an awesome ride! It felt so real!!! Ha! We also did the tour, but I have to say I miss my old school king kong that got burnt a while back =(. Any who, the day went pretty swell for a freebie. . .heck I woulda paid for it!

Catalina Island . . . why didn't I visit you sooner?

What a wonderful week I've been having! Seriously, I've been quite blessed. The hubby and I went to Catalina Island for a couple days and have fallen madly in love with that little island. We didn't go to Two Harbors, but did spend our days in Avalon. The place is so pretty and old school. I don't know why we never went there before seeing as how it is only a 1hr boat ride away. Any who, it was lovely!

. . .and now I'm thirty.

Wow! I can't believe I am 30! I don't feel 30! What is 30 even supposed to feel like? Hahaha! I had a wonderful day. My co-workers did a small little lunch with cake and ceviche. . .my favorite! At night I was surrounded by my family. It was truly memorable. =) Any who, just because I'm up for it. . .here's what I look like @ THIRTY!
